Dirty Laundry – A Love Letter to Frank Castle
2004’s The Punisher is not what we could say an awesome movie but it is probably the best incarnation of Marvel’s iconic character. Thomas Jane did a great job of portraying Frank Castle but unfortunately it wasn’t a big commercial success to warrant a sequel from Hollywood.
Thomas loved the character so much that he assembled a team to create an epic short film #DirtyLaundry in which we are re-united with Frank Castle who’s been ignoring the dark evil of the world for too long but The Punisher’s fury is reawakened after going to do laundry in a bad neighbourhood.
Question: What’s the difference between justice and punishment? #DIRTYLAUNDRY
“I wanted to make a fan film for a character I’ve always loved and believed in – a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It’s been a blast to be a part of from start to finish — we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.” — Thomas Jane
Projects like this truly show Hollywood’s disconnect with a brands core audience which is essential to a film’s success. IMO it also shows how it’s always going to play catch up with the YouTube generation and how YouTube has really changed the game.
After watching #DIRTYLAUNDRY I’m wondering what Thomas Jane is waiting for to start a Kickstarter?
